Announcement...Sweet Lime Closing

It is with sadness that I make this announcement today. After weighing all aspects of my current situation, I have decided to close down my photography business. I have two sessions in the month of May and after that I will not be scheduling sessions or taking pictures for hire.

My heart is not in this business the way it used to be. I do not want to disappoint the clients who have trusted me with their family photography. I treasure getting to know my clients and appreciate their loyalty and praise. I have decided that it is time for me to try some other things. I am going to close down for at least a year and possibly forever. I may pick it up again at some point in the future but for now I need to hang up my photography hat.

What does the future hold for me? Well, for starters I am going back to school in the fall. I have dreamed of pursuing a graduate degree in psychology for 10 years now. I am going to start working on it at UNT this fall. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I don't think a person should be this excited about going to school but I am. Every time I think about it, a smile comes to my face and my mind perks up. I think school is just the thing I need right now.

Of course I will continue to be mom to Allie, Caden, Parker and Sydney (and maybe a 5th  baby - the last - if I can re-convince my husband that we need to do it). There is always plenty to do on that front! I will still be taking picture of my kids and my sister's kids so my camera won't go unused.

Having this small business has been such a blessing to me. I appreciate everyone who has trusted me behind the lens. I have learned so much and met such wonderful people at every session. It reaffirms to me regularly that there are so many good people in this world trying to make it a better place by raising strong families.

My website will still be up. In December I paid the fees to have it for 3 more years. I didn't realize then that I would be closing down. I'll put a closed sign on the website and blog and let it sit for a time.

Thank you all for your support and your business and your understanding! I will miss you!

On My Toes...

I had the pleasure of photographing this extended family a few weeks ago. It always a pleasure to meet nice families! The 2 year old grandson kept me on my toes. He was not a bit interested in me or my camera. He was interested in the cacti and the trees.
The baby was happy to smile for me. He is just a bit older than my baby so he was interested in the rocks just as she would have been.
So I grouped the family for the last time in this setting. We got the two year old to look up and smile for a couple of quick shots. I was excited to have gotten THE shot. When I got home and looked at the session, I could not believe that in all the fuss over the toddler I didn't even notice that Grandpa had his sunglasses on!
